Beypore, one of the prominent ports and fishing harbours of ancient Kerala was an important trade and maritime centre.Khalasis, who are the traditional ship builders here, are amazing with their ship building knowledge and craft.
The stone bridge
The bridge attracts a lot of tourists.The bridge is made by huge stones piled together to make a pathway into the sea for nearly 2 km.
The boat-building yard
The yard is famous for its traditional construction of the Uru or the Arabian trading vessel. This tradition of shipbuilding is nearly 1,500 years old, and the craftsmanship of the workers here is exceptional.
Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary
It is considered as a birdwatchers paradise, due to the variety of local as well as migratory bird life. Migratory birds flock here in large numbers during February-March.
Beach Activities
The Beypore beach is ideal for relaxation. The tourists can sunbathe on the sandy beaches of Baypore to get a bronze tan.They can taste the local flavor of fresh seafood of Kerala from the seaside stalls and drink a lot of cool and refreshing coconut waters.
